SCS Photo Challenge #43 - Select a Subject

This challenge deals with taking photo's of people, groups, portraits, etc. I kinda cheated on this one while at Azalea Park, but thought this was a great scene! The first shot is focussed on the "Girl Reading Book" and the second is focussed on the brightly colored flowers:

SCS Photo Challenge #28 - Fill the Frame

This weekend I went to beautiful Summerville, SC for a hair appointment when I was told my appointment was NEXT weekend... ohwell. So I took the opportunity to go to Azalea Park and shoot some pictures for the SCS Photo Challenge. This pic is for challenge #28, Fill the Frame. I've lived here almost 10 years and have never been there, only 20 minutes away. I also walked the Farmers Market and bought my first Sweetgrass basket (these baskets are EXPENSIVE which is why I've never had one before, but I didn't pay what they have listed on this website for sure!) Here are my pics for the challenge...

Spanish moss is EVERYWHERE here in South Carolina... it appears to be dripping from the trees...

SCS Photo Challenge #40 - Up

This challenge was a perspective challenge... UP! I thought this was a fun perspective which catches the vibrancy of the flower against the blue sky.

SCS Photo Challenge #42 - 7/12/09 - Take A Seat

Added bench photo (7/27/09) from Azalea Park excursion... I was drawn to this old bench, though I don't know if I did it justice!

My blogging friend Maria and I are challenging each other to do these challenges over on Split Coast Stampers. The first one I have for you is "Take A Seat". We were suppose to photograph something you can sit on. This is my new bike! I thought it would be fun to photograph for this challenge.

Maria and I are going to also do the new challenge that should be posted today, and we each picked one of the old ones to do, so you'll see some new photos over the next week or so. It should be alot of fun!

i {heart} faces

So I discovered this really neat site called I ♥ Faces. They offer weekly photo challenges and have guest judges pick the winners each week. Well, this week my favorite photographer in the world, Jasmine Star, is judging! I had to show my support and enter!

Make sure you visit Jasmine's blog, it's addicting! Not only is she a super talented photographer, she's an amazing writer, a down to earth philosopher and an all around great person! She's one of those people that you wish you knew for real!!!

The shot above is of my nephew Ryan, on his 2nd birthday... his face says it all! What a joy this child is! Full of laughter, loving, fun with just the right amount of mischief thrown in!

While visiting NC last weekend for my nephew's 2nd birthday, we went to the Life and Science Museum in Durham. Ryan had SO much fun! This is one pic of him enjoying his time at the farm animal yard. That look of excitement is so adorable! I'm glad I captured it on film!

What About a Photo Blog Challenge?

UPDATE: Thanks for the interest so far! I probably won't start anything til later in the month. I want to get a little interest and I will be out of town off and on for a couple weeks. Thanks for the interest so far!

SO, I'm always thinking, "Wow, wish I had thought of that challenge" or "Wish I had started that group" and in leaving my friend Maria a post on her craft site, I thought this could be my opportunity to start my own challenge! What about a weekly or bi-weekly photo challenge?! If you'd be interested, leave me a comment below. Let me know if weekly is too often and if bi-weekly would be good if so. Leave any ideas for challenges as well. I'm thinking we could do things like a "portrait" challenge, or a "technique" challenge. Or take a picture of a historical building/area in your town, a picture of people in action... things like that.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment a below. If you are interested, please click the FOLLOW ME button so you can be notified of the results and possible first challenge!
